Affordable Green Brand Spotlight: Juice Organics Review

IMG_20160526_103754

A woman’s hair is considered to be her “crowning glory”, and though I am militant about taking good care of my (now to the middle of my back) locks, finding hair care products that both work for me and are affordable have been hit or miss.

For months, my hair has been loving this* wallet-friendly brand’s repairing shampoo & conditioner, but after trying out Juice Organics, I have a new favorite to add to the list!

A few reasons I love them:

  • They use gentle coconut sudsers instead of sulfates. All Juice Organics products are formulated without parabens, petroleum, propylene or butylene glycol, sodium lauryl sulfates, phthalates, PEGs, TEA, DEA, GMOs, silicones, artificial dyes or endocrine disrupting synthetic fragrances.
  • They use over 70% organic ingredients & are COPA compliant
  • They are both Leaping Bunny & PETA cruelty-free certified
  • They are eco-conscious & are on a mission to spread awareness of the importance of using organically farmed ingredients over conventional ones

Since my hair is color treated, I chose their Color Protect line to test out, which besides smelling fruity and delicious, also does the following:

  • Helps color treated and highlighted hair maintain its vibrancy and shine with Fig and Sunflower oils
  • Helps protect against color fade & UV rays with organic Blueberry
  • Provides heat protection against heat styling tools

Now, a bit on the individual products…

Color Protect Shampoo

This thick, silky shampoo produces a rich lather that cleans well, without leaving my hair feeling dry or filmy. It contains a plethora of moisturizing and nourishing ingredients, including Pomegranate Seed oil, organic Shea Butter, organic Olive & Linseed oils as well as Panthenol, and Vitamin E. Because it is so rich, I only need a small amount to get the job done. 🙂

Color Protect Leave-In Treatment Spray

Since I love to curl and straighten my hair when I go out (or get bored), I need a good, hydrating and clean heat protector spray and this one fits the bill perfectly! Organic Linseed oil prevents color from fading, while organic Blueberry and Sunflower oil provide UV protection and Fig and organic Borage oils enhance shine.
