Brand Obsession: Green People Organic Skincare

Green People was first conceived in 1994 when mother (and founder) Charlotte Vohtz was searching for natural products to help her daughter’s multiple skin allergies and eczema. Finding nothing that was truly natural, she began creating her own products and was amazed by the results. After years of product research and development, Green People was officially born in 1997.

Dedicated to creating truly natural skin, hair and body products that are suitable for the most sensitive skin’s, as well as for eczema, psoriasis, and reactive skin, their products are carefully formulated with plant oils and Phyto-actives to give your skin the nourishment it needs!

Also, here is a list of what you won’t find in any of their products: SLS/SLES, parabens, MI, MCI, triclosan, phthalates, gluten, lanolin, propylene glycol, alcohol denat, harsh foaming agents, pore-blocking aluminum, irritating emulsifiers, synthetic fragrances and colorants, petrochemicals, mineral oils, silicones, ethoxylated ingredients, formaldehyde and formaldehyde donors, EDTA, octyl methoxycinnamate, urea, DEA, TEA or PEGs.

I’ve been using a few of their products for a few months and I have to be honest, I am really quite in love!

Gentle Cleanse & Make-Up Remover

This is my new all time favorite creamy cleanser! It removes every single trace of makeup (including stubborn mascara and liquid liner) without irritating my eyes or feeling greasy or heavy, it rinses completely clean and leaves my skin soft and supple. Ingredients like Organic Aloe Vera, Calendula, and Rose Geranium help reduce redness and inflammation, while Shea Butter, Squalane, and Jojoba hydrate and nourish. The scent is strongly Geranium, which I’m not really a fan of, but like most ingredients that I hate the smell of, I love the benefits it provides to my skin! This is a really great cleanser for people with oily, acneic, sensitive and even dry skin. You only need a tiny bit (one or two pumps of product for entire face and neck) to get the job done, which is another plus, as this will last quite awhile (at least several months). 🙂

Beauty Boost Skin Restore

This, of all the products I was sent by Green People, is the most a good way. It’s a treatment cream that is basically like a “first aid” for tired, dull complexions. It’s rich, creamy formula is jam-packed with plant actives that all work to revive, brighten and rejuvenate your skin. Ingredients like antioxidant-rich Wakame stimulates collagen production for plumper and firmer skin, Avocado Butter maintains skin elasticity, Green Marine Algae delivers intense hydration and polyphenols from Everlasting Flower fight age-accelerating free radicals. Use this twice weekly, or whenever you feel your skin needs some extra TLC! I found that while the texture is quite rich, it wasn’t greasy, but rather left a soft matte feel once it was absorbed. It also wasn’t the least bit irritating to my sensitive, reactive skin and I noticed less breakouts while using this. 🙂

Fruitful Nights Night Cream

This deeply hydrating night time moisturizer is perfect for dry, dehydrated, oily, acne prone and sensitive skins. Its texture is similar to the Beauty Boost, and like that, it isn’t greasy, but rather leaves skin feeling soft, nourished and matte. Ingredients like Organic Rosehip, Damask Rose & Hibiscus provide potent anti-aging benefits, while Organic Hemp Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Aloe Vera Leaf balance and reduce inflammation. I used this nightly for a month and my skin was brighter, more hydrated and less irritated, which made me happy! 🙂 I also loved the fruity scent – reminds me of Fruit Loops cereal!

Price – $28 (for 50ml)
