The Green Beauty Diaries: Entry #1 🌿💚

Hello, beauties! I recently wrote a post on 16 of my favorite products from 2016 (see here), but because there were just soooo many wonderful brands I had tried last year that I haven’t yet got a review on, I thought I’d include some of them here. This will {hopefully} be a regular series where I’ll share my monthly favorites that will include products both purchased and gifted.

Skincare:

  1. *Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques Two Step Cleansing System for Acne-Prone/Oily skin – Since my skin generally gets drier and fussier in the colder months, I felt it was the perfect time to rekindle my love affair with oil cleansing. For the past few weeks, I have been using this two-step cleansing process from fave brand, Lauren Brooke. Because my skin is also acne prone, I chose the system designed for oily/acne prone skin, which contains ingredients like Thyme, Borage & Clary Sage to provide antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, & antiseptic properties, as well as Grapefruit Oil, Meadowsweet & Aloe to balance and soothe skin. The oil has an earthy-fruity scent and is light and astringent, yet at the same time hydrating (I actually use it as an acne treating face oil at night) and the cleansing cloths remove any leftover traces of makeup so your skin feels clean, yet not tight or dry.  I will definitely be repurchasing this! $25.50 {code brunetteecoholic saves you 10% at checkout!}
  2. C2 California Clean Skincare Ultra Replenishing Oil -A new discovery for me this year, Cali Clean is a woman owned business with a mind for progress and innovation in skincare. Founded by a team of scientists and healthcare professionals, they set out to create products that would not only be cleaner and safer than what’s currently on the (mainstream) market, but that would also be effective. I’ve been using their facial oil which contains ultra-hydrating squalane (from olives) and free radical neutralizer, vitamin E. The oil is light and absorbs very quickly, leaving skin super soft and supple. Lately, I’ve been using it as my go-to hand moisturizer as well as on some dry patches on my elbows & I love how well it nourishes & hydrates. Price – $88

 Personal Care:

  1. Veeda Feminine Wipes – For those of you who use feminine wipes, and want something safer than what the conventional brands have to offer, you may want to check out these ones from Veeda. Made with 100% natural cotton, and infused with Vitamin E to soothe and condition skin, these wipes are pretty handy for when you need to quickly freshen up, don’t have time to shower or for when your visitor gets a bit messy (like mine just was..ugh!). These do not contain harmful chemicals, silicones, parabens, synthetics, or dyes and are chlorine, fragrance & GMO-free. The one negative I found with this is that they contain Phenoxyethanol and I know many of you ladies are trying to avoid that (as do I), but if it is not an ingredient of concern to you, I highly, highly recommend these. 🙂 Price – $3.99

Cosmetics:

  1. *Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques Pressed Cheek Color in “Sweet Sixteen” – I purchased this right before Christmas when they were having one of their holiday sales, and like everything from Lauren Brooke, it became an instant fave. The color is a very soft pinky-peach that looks really natural, no matter the lighting. It has a really fine shimmer that isn’t garish or obvious, but rather provides a subtle “healthy glow” to the cheekbones. I don’t normally wear blush (I prefer bronzer), but this product is just lovely and really “wakes up” my complexion. The ingredients are also completely clean and non-GMO. Price – $16.50

Have you tried any of these products? What are your thoughts? Let me know below!

Peace & love,

Brie xo
