Hi, my name is Sabrina & I have a fitness addiction. If not for some annoying (and sometimes debilitating) health issues, I’d probably be working out 7 days a week, an hour a day. Also, I love pizza, so I kind of have extra motivation! 😉
Because of some health issues I’ve been dealing with, I’ve stayed away from doing fitness type posts, but when Pommello Sweats reached out to see if I wanted to test their wares (namely their sleeveless workout top and capri pants), the workout junkie in me couldn’t say no!
The story of Pommello began when founder Calvin Ng had a near fatal asthma attack. After doing a bit of research, he discovered that many of the leading illnesses people suffer from are caused by chemical toxicity in the body.
Using his 16 years experience as an apparel manufacturer & entrepreneur, Calvin developed a fabric that helps to both detoxify the body through sweating and improve athletic performance through hyperthermic conditioning.
I had never heard of hyperthermic conditioning before, so I did a little Nancy Drewing and what I found is that it basically trains your body to acclimatize to heat stress which prompts some beneficial changes.
Some of those benefits include:
- more blood flow to the heart & muscles, which increases endurance
- more efficient transport of oxygen to muscles
- faster & increased muscle mass growth
- less muscle atrophy
- increase in HGH (human growth hormone) to help fight aging
Wearing Pommello Sweats while working out has one other hugely important benefit – detoxification of the Lymphatic System. This is important because our Lymphatic System (aka the body’s sanitation system) helps to move harmful toxins to our detoxifying organs – the liver & kidneys so they can be purged out.
The heat that is generated wearing Pommello Sweats encourages the Lymph vessels to move, getting the detoxification process going and making you sweat.
As far as comfort goes, the capri pants are incredibly comfortable and seem to mold to the shape of my body. I love that the crotch region is ventilated, which I think is genius, especially with how tight they are and how much sweating you do wearing them. I did have a bit of an issue getting the top on (thanks to being somewhat chesty), but once I managed, it fit perfectly just like the capris. The whole outfit feels like a second skin and actually makes me look forward even more to working out. I’m actually wearing them as I write this because they are just so darn comfy!
I haven’t been using them that long, so I will need to update on social media as to how well they actually work for me (though I can confirm you’ll be sweating more in less time, without “overheating”). My hubby and I are going to be working with a personal trainer starting this week, so I will have lots of opportunities to use these sweats. 🙂
