The Green Beauty Diaries: Entry #2 💚🌿

Hey, loves! I have a bunch of products that I have just finished testing & want to share with you! I generally test products for at least a month before posting a review on them, but a few of these I did share on Instagram when I first started testing them, so if you follow me there you may see a few that are familiar. 🙂

PR Samples: From top – “Noir Or”, “Cuivre” & “Violet”

Vert Beauty Eyeliner Pencils – As I mentioned on my Insta page a few weeks ago, I have been loving these eyeliner pencils from Vert Beauty! The clean, vegan formula glides on effortlessly, without tugging delicate undereye skin, and provides a rich, vibrant color with just a touch of shimmer. Infused with nourishing ingredients like Mango & Meadowfoam Seed oils, these pencils will keep your peepers soft and hydrated too! My favorites are “Noir Or” – a black gold shade, which is perfect for both day and night, and “Violet” (shown on me below), a rich, deep purple shade. Price – $17

Make-up deets: Jane Iredale “Glow Time Mineral BB Cream in BB3”, Pacifica “Dream Big Mascara” & Vert Beauty Eyeliner in “Violet”

Benecos – I’ve been using the eyebrow designer from Benecos for quite some time now (my shade is “Brown”), and for the past month have also been using their foundation, eyeshadow, and lipstick as well. If you’ve never heard of or tried them, Benecos is a German based brand that offers non-toxic, plant-based products that are both hip and affordable! They were kind enough to send me some things and below are my thoughts on each product…

The foundation is a creamy liquid that provides a medium to full coverage, depending on how you apply it (for this product, I like to use my fingers) and dries to a matte finish, without feeling too dry. It contains organic Jojoba, Shea Butter and plant extracts to nourish skin as well as keep oil production in check. My shade is “Dune”, which is a fair-light shade and isn’t too pink or yellow on me. 🙂 Price – $17.99

I’m a huge fan of neutral eyeshadow colors and their color in “So What“, a shimmery coppery champagne, has become a fave. Organic Macadamia Nut Oil and Organic Castor Oil give it a soft, velvety texture that glides right on. Since my skin is oily, I do need to use a shadow primer under this to keep it from creasing, so if you have oily lids, you may want to do the same. Price – $12.99

Because I am so fair, I generally stay away from darker shades of lipstick, however, “Catwalk” (seen below), has become an exception. Made with good for your lips ingredients like Organic Castor & Organic Avocado oils to moisturize and Organic Babassu Oil and Vitamins C & E to protect, this creamy, long lasting formula feels more like a lip balm than a lipstick. The color itself is a rich, deep red that is perfect for creating a bold lip. Price – $13.99

~All of Benecos products are GMO, soy, gluten & cruelty-free. They also do not contain parabens, petrochemicals, PEG, synthetic dyes, fragrances or silicones.

Frownies Immune Shield Serum – This rich, luxe oil is loaded with antioxidants, peptides & lipids that work to soften, calm and deeply hydrate the skin. Combining such plant goodness like Hemp Seed, Grapeseed, Meadowfoam & Seabuckthorn oils with Olive Squalene, non-GMO Oat Oil, and vitamin E, my skin has seen fewer break-outs, less redness, and a more healthy glow. 🙂 The texture is silky, with a slightly heavier feel than a standard oil (maybe the Avocado & Macadamia Nut oils give it more “weight”?), yet when absorbed doesn’t leave any greasiness. Tip: I always add oils to damp skin (or add a drop of water to the oil while in my palm), as doing so definitely helps the oil to absorb better & prevents skin from looking shiny. That being said, this truly is a great fit for my sensitive, reactive, dehydrated/oily & acne prone 46 yr old skin and I would definitely recommend & also repurchase. $32

Lexi Organic Haircare – Created by my {awesome} hairstylist and a naturopath, these hair products have become “must have’s” for me, particularly the “3-in-1 Treatment”, which is a cleaner version of the “Wen Conditioning Cleanser”. My hair is not only color treated but is extremely fussy about what products it likes and most natural brands leave my hair feeling either greasy or dry, so it’s been a bit of a challenge to find something that actually works for me. Both the shampoo gel & the conditioning cleanser from Lexi Organic’s leave my hair (and scalp) feeling clean, hydrated and silky soft for days, without stripping my color or natural oils! I’m also obsessed with the delectably fresh scent of coconut and green tea (phthalate free). Both products are formulated with nourishing ingredients like Organic Aloe Juice, Organic Shea Butter, Honey & Vitamin E to name a few. And both are free from sulfates, parabens, petrochemicals & other highly offensive nasties! $25

*Note: their website is still undergoing some construction, so not all info that will be up is up at the moment.

Have you guys tried any of these products? What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments!

Peace & love,

Brie xo
