Wine With Benefits – Social Enjoyments Sparkling Sake Wine Review + A Few Healthy Cocktail Recipes! 🍷

I’ve mentioned (more than) a few times my love for wine (or as my hubby calls it – “Sabrina’s happy juice”), and though my palate generally gravitates towards the drier varieties, I recently found a light, somewhat sweet sparkling wine that I have become quite enamored of!

The story behind Social Enjoyments  Sparkling Sake Wine is as interesting as its flavors. After being diagnosed with thyroid cancer at the young age of 26, founder Leah Caplanis made the decision to take a more holistic approach to her life. This included adopting a vegan diet and cutting out alcohol. Once she was healed 3 years later, Leah was inspired to create a healthier option for those who wanted to live clean but still wanted to be able to enjoy a glass or two of alcohol when socializing. Thus, Social Enjoyments was born.

All of Social’s wines are certified organic, gluten-free, sulfite-free, Non-GMO, 88 calories, have only 1g of sugar and 4g of carbs and are blended with super-food extracts!

I had the pleasure of trying all 3 flavors and was hooked at first taste!

Grapefruit Ginger is my favorite, with a flavor profile that is both fruity and spicy and oh so delish! I love this on its own or mixed with a splash (or two) of Pinot Grigio to enhance that grapefruity flavor! You can also go a more spicy route and add some fresh ginger and a slice of grapefruit for garnish. Perfection!

Hibiscus Cucumber is my second fave and is perfect for the warmer months as the hint of cucumber is just so refreshing! To amp up both flavors and health benefits try adding hibiscus tea and organic cucumber slices! A splash of vodka ( I prefer gluten free, non-GMO) turns this into a great party cocktail without adding much in the way of carbs, sugar or calories!

Toasted Coconut Almond is the one I reach for when I want a sweeter drink. The sweet & nutty flavor makes this a great after dinner treat! To turn this up a notch, add some coconut rum!

Grapefruit Sparkler

· 4 oz of Pink Grapefruit Ginger SOCIAL

· 1 to 1.5 oz orange liqueur

· Splash of orange juice

Vanilla Dreams

· 5 oz Toasted Coconut Almond SOCIAL

· 1 oz Van Gogh Vanilla Vodka

· .25 oz lemon Juice

· 2 drops Liquid Stevia

· 5 oz Hibiscus Cucumber SOCIAL

· 1 oz Hendricks Gin

· 2 drops Liquid Stevia

· 6 mint leaves

· Strawberries to garnish

· Splash of lime juice
