February Goodbeing Box Review

February is one of my favorite months. Not just because it’s one month closer to Spring, but because my birthday, as well as Valentine’s Day, are both in February. And also, a new month means a new Goodbeing Box! 😉

This month, yet again, I loved each and every item sent and yet again I discovered new brands to keep on my permanent radar.

Because traversing the waters of clean beauty can be overwhelming, I love that there are subscription boxes like Goodbeing that take all the guesswork out of the equation for you. If you are new to my blog and have never heard of Goodbeing before, you can learn more about them here. You can also read my reviews of past boxes here.

Now, let’s get down to business and have a look-see at what goodies I received this month! <3

In a society that profits from your self-doubt, liking yourself is a rebellious act” – Caroline Caldwell

Aila Nail Lacquer (full size) – I don’t wear nail polish often, but when I do it’s always non-toxic and I like to coordinate with the colors of the seasons. And since Spring is right around the corner that means pink, pink and more pink (also pink is my favorite color, sooo…)! Right now I am crushing on pink in tones of blush and rose, so this Aila nail lacquer in “Bless Your Heart” is perfect for me. It’s a rich peachy rose that works for dressy or casual wear and is free from 11 of the common toxins that are found in conventional nail polish, which is something I definitely appreciate. This formula is also cruelty-free, vegan, chip-resistant, super shiny, long-lasting & made in the USA. $14

Aila 3-in-1 Soy Based Nail Color Remover Wipes (sample) –  I don’t like to wear toxic nail polish, and I definitely don’t like to use toxic nail polish remover, so I was happy to see a sample of this plant-based remover cloth in my box. Made with pure soy and argan oils, this is a much healthier alternative to conventional acetone and acetate removers. These handy cloths remove nail color without leaving a filmy residue or stripping your nails of their natural oil. The formula’s unique blend of vitamins A, C, and E, as well as plant oils, help to hydrate, condition and strengthen nails, which will help them grow and be healthy. $9 (pack of 10 cloths)

Z Skin Daytime Eye Cream with SPF 8 – (full size) – Those of you who follow me know that I am obsessed with wearing sunscreen every day, indoors or out, rain, snow or shine. I’ve also been looking for a richer, more hydrating eye cream for the Winter so this one from Z Skin covers both of my needs. This was also one of my two picks. Made with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, coffee, rooibos, collagen as well as vitamins A, D, and E, this keeps my peepers well moisturized, de-puffed, bright as well as protected from aging rays of the sun. The texture is rich and creamy and absorbs quickly without feeling greasy. I’ve noticed my fine lines are looking even more fine the more I use this, so it’s a win-win all the way around for me! 😉 $21

Alima Pure Indigo Eyeliner Pencil – (full size) – I’ve been a fan of Alima Pure for a while (love their powder foundation!), so I was excited to see this eye pencil show up in the box. I’m also a fan of blue eyeliner, so double excitement! Not your 80’s neon blue, this is a gorgeous, deep shimmering blue that really makes my brown eyes pop! The creamy formula glides on easily, without tugging or pulling delicate skin around your eyes and it’s so highly pigmented that a very light hand is all that’s necessary to apply. Since this is a natural formula, made with oils like meadowfoam seed, mango seed, and macadamia to moisturize, this may “slide” off mid-day if you’re skin is naturally oily. To prevent this (since I’m one of those with oily lids), I go over the liner with a powder shadow in a similar shade and that helps to increase its staying power for me. $18

ReChoc Reservatrol Dark Chocolate – (sample) – Since my favorite after dinner treat is a piece of dark chocolate and a glass of Pinot Noir or other dry red, I was pretty stoked to receive this in my box! But this is no ordinary chocolate. ReChoc is what’s known as “next-generation” dark chocolate that was developed to maximize the bioavailability of polyphenols, such as epicatechins from cocoa, and resveratrol from aronia. Just one piece of this chocolate contains the same amount of resveratrol as 2 glasses of Pinot Noir! And then there’s the taste. It’s rich, creamy, decadent, not too sweet (it’s 72% cocoa) and is just oh, so good! And with only 52 calories, 3 grams of fat, 4 carbs and 3 grams of sugar, plus 1 gram of protein, it’s the perfect non-guilty pleasure when you’re craving something sweet. ReChoc is also non-GMO, dairy & gluten-free, vegan and diabetic friendly. Needless to say, I will be ordering a box of this for myself! $24.95 (box of 20)

Plaine Products Body Wash – (travel size) – This body wash combines the healing benefits of rosemary with the uplifting scent of fresh mint and just a hint of vanilla that will both energize and calm your senses. Made with organic and natural ingredients like aloe leaf juice, coconut oil, chamomile and green tea, this sulfate-free formula gently cleanses without being drying and it says that daily use will improve the tone and texture of skin. It’s also hypoallergenic, vegan, baby-safe, color-safe, non-GMO, and cruelty-free. But the most unique thing about this brand is that they are a zero waste company in that they offer a subscription service where you select your preferred products and once you run out you can order a refill or you can subscribe and they will send your products automatically. When you receive your refill, you send back the old bottles where they clean, refill and reuse them! They also cover the cost to send back your empties! $30 (or $27.50 subscription price)

Curandera Remedies Therapeutic Eau de Parfum in Majmua – (full size) – Because I am so scent sensitive and because of all of the unhealthy ingredients used in conventional fragrances, I am always on the hunt for new natural ones to try. This perfume from Curandera Remedies was my second pick and possibly one of my absolute favorite fragrances..ever! Majmua attar is described as being one of the best perfume oils ever created and with its complex notes of lush florals, rich woodsiness, and exotic spices it’s no wonder why. The intoxicating aroma blooms throughout the day and doesn’t fade like most natural perfumes do, even though it’s just made of jojoba oil, vitamin E and the Majmua attar blend (resins, spices & herbs) with perfumer’s alcohol (100 proof). $40

Final thoughts: Once again, I was deeply impressed by everything that was curated for me by the wonderful people at Goodbeing and once again, I discovered new brands to love and explore more from. Some definite favorites this month were ReChoc (already have a box in my Amazon cart), Curandera and Z Skin Cosmetics. I know I say this everytime, but I really can’t wait until I get my next box!!! 😀
